It Gets Worse Before It Gets Better
Now Playing: Korn / Issues / Let's Get This Party Started

It gets worse? Not to beat a dead horse or anything but the Pew poll on creationism is disheartening. 41 percent of the public thinks parents should control the science/evolution curriculum, while 49 percent say it's up to either teachers or school boards. That's the bad news. The good news is that this is without any concerted effort to push back the anti-evolution onslaught, and polls are still in favor of letting experts provide a high-quality curriculum.

Ways to help:

In general, more person-hours are not really needed, despite the magnitude of the travesty. "Throwing money at the problem" is a reasonable thing to do in the short term. In the long term, write your congressperson and tell them to take FEMA oversight or funding for Army Corps of Engineers projects seriously, and talk to your local Red Cross organization about becoming a disaster/emergency volunteer.

This is disgusting. [ed. note: Steve Gillard is African-American. He's using the N-word to make a point.]
